Honeybees produce beeswax by secreting wax flakes from special glands on their bodies. Honeybees must eat 10 grams of honey in order to produce just 1 gram of wax. Using their mouths they manipulate the beeswax flakes into hexagonal cells which they then connect together to form a honeycomb structure. This honeycomb structure gets bigger and bigger to eventually build a hive. Within the cells they will store nectar & pollen and the queen will lay eggs inside them which then develop into new bees. 

Beeswax candles have many benefits over soy wax & paraffin wax candles. Some of these benefits are as follows:

Beeswax is a 100% natural product so they burn clean with no black smoke unlike paraffin wax which is a petroleum based product.

Our beeswax candles have no artificial perfume or colourants added unlike some soy and paraffin candles. These added artificial perfumes and colourants can be toxic when burned.

Beeswax candles burn longer than any other type of candle.

They emit the brightest light of all candles. This light is of a similar quality to sunlight and as a result it's easier on your eyes.

Beeswax candles charge the air in the room with negative ions which attach themselves to positive ions on floating dust particles, hair particles & mold spores which then drop to the floor. This creates a healthier environment for people who suffer from asthma or similar breathing problems.

Always buy your beeswax candles from reputable beekeepers as some commercially made beeswax candles can be a mix of beeswax and paraffin wax but still be labelled as beeswax.
